Do you believe that your prayers are being heard? Do you believe that the Almighty Creator of the Universe listens to us? I believe He does!
Then you shall certainly delight in the Almighty, and lift up your face to Eloah, make your prayer to Him. And He shall hear you, and you shall pay your vows. Job 22:26-27
Prayer is an expression of thanks. I saw a sign outside of a church once and it said: “Prayer begins with praise.” We should always begin our prayers with praise to Him.
“He is your praise, and He is your Elohim, who has done for you these great and awesome deeds which your eyes have seen. Deuteronomy 10:21
Prayer can also be a petition for help. Prayer is a special communication between you and Yahweh. If you want to get to know Yah better, start spending more time talking to Him and building a relationship.
But as for me, my prayer is to You, O יהוה, At an acceptable time, O Elohim. In the greatness of Your kindness, Answer me in the truth of Your deliverance. Psalm 69:13
Sometimes our prayers are answered right away. Wow! How awesome is that? It really strengthens our belief.
יהוה has heard my pleading; יהוה receives my prayer. Psalm 6:9
Sometimes our prayers are not answered at all, and it causes us to have a deeper faith and trust in Yahweh. These are the times that we realize that He knows what is best in our lives and the lives of others. We may not understand it but we accept it. Years later you may look back and say, “Father, now I know why You didn’t answer my prayer. Thank you.”
Do not worry at all, but in every matter, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to Elohim. Philippians 4:6
Sometimes when we pray the answer is “wait.” One of the nine fruits of the spirit is patience. Patience builds character. It is not good to always get what we want when we want it. Sometimes Yah may want to answer our prayer but the timing may not be right. Maybe we have to go through a trial first for purification.
Wait on יהוה, be strong, And let Him strengthen your heart! Wait, I say, on יהוה! Psalm 27:14
How should we approach the throne of Yahweh during prayer? Well, that is very personal, but Yah does listen to the prayer of the humble.
and My people upon whom My Name is called, shall humble themselves, and pray and seek My face, and turn from their evil ways, then I shall hear from the heavens, and forgive their sin and heal their land. 2 Chronicles 7:14
As we mature in our walk with Yahweh, we desire to serve Him in truth. Our obedience to Him creates an awesome bond that draws us closer to Him.
Then you shall call on Me, and shall come and pray to Me, and I shall listen to you. Jeremiah 29:12
Prayer changes things!
